Benvenuto, Welcome

The estate is situated in the heart of Tuscany, in a panoramic and suggestive hilly region, and it is surrounded by a lot of small villages, true jewels rich in history and culture in which people still have a good quality of life and traditions are still alive.

Of particular interest are the “Museum of rural work and customs” in San Gervasio and the “Museum of farWed ‘s civilization” in Montefoscoli. Carbonaia is the ideal arrival point both for people who are looking  for a place where they can relax and for people who are looking for fun and culture.

During your holidays at Carbonaia you can have long , relaxing walks both in the estate and the immediate surrounding countryside where there are several trekking routes between the manmade and wild nature; in only 40 minutes drive have a swim in the sea (Tirrenia, Marina di Pisa) and visit the most important historical cities of Tuscany Pisa, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Lucca, Firenze.

For tennis lovers the tennis court of  Peccioli as well as the flying school in Capannoli are  only 6 miles way, the riding school in Treggiaia is only 8 miles away and Casciana Terme  with its sulphureous water and beauty centre  is only 12 miles away. And if you like good food and wine, the Vie del Chianti will offer an alternative route.
The farm estate is connected with the nearest village Palaia by a cart track of about a mile.

Althought Palaia is a small village it has a lot a shops, i.e.grocer’s shop, baker’s shop, bar, butcher’s shop, clothes’shop, and even a petrol pump and it is theatre of a lot of tradional festivals during the year.
If after a day of relax in the swimming pool or an excursion  to the historical cities or to the sea, you wish to drink a glass of beer or good Tuscan wine amid the inhabitants of the village ,pubs and bar are open every night.
The most important monument in Palaia is the Pieve di San martino, situated on a hillock, far from the village.
